POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
The Bluewater Bay Tennis
Center is a semi-private facility; offering both the advantages of membership to
those who use the facility on a regular basis, while also offering the
occasional player the opportunity to pay by the hour for any usage of our
services. The Tennis Center will be
open year-round on the following base schedule:
Monday
– Thursday
8:00am – 9:00pm
Fridays
8:00am – 6:00pm
Saturdays
8:00am – 5:00pm
Sundays
9:00am – 5:00pm
Exceptions to this schedule
will occur during the week between Christmas and New Years Day.
The Tennis Center will also be closed on Christmas and Thanksgiving Days,
as well as closing early on other Holidays.
Additionally, if we are experiencing inclement weather and it becomes
obvious that the courts will not be playable for the duration of the day; the
Tennis Center will close early. Court
conditions and pro shop closures will be posted on the chalkboard on our
website, www.bluewaterbaytennis.com.
Courts may be reserved up
to 7 days in advance. While we do
not guarantee court assignment requests, we do attempt to fulfill them
whenever possible. It is imperative
that all players check-in at the pro shop before going to the courts.
The only entrance to the Tennis Center is the front door of the
pro shop. Members are responsible
for insuring that their guests abide by all the rules and regulations of the
Tennis Center, including payment of any applicable fees.
If a member’s guest does not make payment, those fees will be placed on
the member’s account. If a member
brings a guest to play and intends to pay for their fees, it is recommended that
the pro shop be notified in advance to avoid the guests being asked to pay for
themselves.
Members receive five guest
passes per year. These passes
entitle the member’s guest (who must reside at least 60 miles away from the
facility) free usage of the courts for one day.
The member must be on court with their guest. A guest can only use five passes per calendar year.
After five guest passes are used, the non-member will be responsible for
paying for all services used at the Tennis Center.
Property owners will not be eligible for guest pass usage.
With the exception of team
clinics, lessons are normally booked up to 7 days in advance.
Payment for lessons (including on account) is due at the time of the
lesson. If purchasing a lesson
package or junior development package, payment is due in advance.
There is a 24-hour cancellation policy for all lessons.
If a lesson is not cancelled at least one day in advance, the full amount
is due.
All leagues (including
in-house and team) take priority on court scheduling. Every feasible effort will be made to accommodate open court
play for those members not participating in the leagues and wanting court time.
While the merchandise in
the pro shop is already priced to be competitive with all the discount
retailers, members receive an additional 10% off the listed price (except for
the sale items). The pro shop
carries demonstrator racquets of all the racquet lines that we carry.
Demo fees paid to rent the racquets will be taken off the price of the
racquet when purchased at the Tennis Center (up to $ 20).
Team orders will receive an additional discount; please see the Team
Uniform Order Policy sheet for more information.
Members are given the
privilege of charging purchases on their membership account.
Statements of these charges will be mailed out (either through
traditional mail service or email) on the first of the month.
It is understood that this is not a revolving charge account and
it is to be paid in full no later than the last day of the month in which it was
received. If the balance is not
paid in full, it will be subjected to a finance charge.
Any member having charges not paid within two months may have their
membership suspended or terminated.
The Bluewater Bay Tennis
Center offers four membership categories: Junior, Single, Couple, and Family.
A “junior” member is an individual, college age or younger, currently
in school, and a dependant with their permanent residence at their parent or
guardian’s house. A “single”
member is an individual who is out of school and/or living independently.
A “couple” consists of two individuals of the same household
(husband-wife, parent-child, etc.). The
“family” membership includes a maximum of two adults and their offspring.
All children in a family membership must fall in the definition of a
“junior”.
A member may put their
membership on “hold” status for two reasons: military leave and medical
injury. Orders from the military or
a physician’s note must be supplied to activate this policy.
Requests to have membership billing retroactive to a prior date cannot be
honored. The length of a membership
“hold” will be six weeks minimally to a maximum of 18 months.
All players, members and
guests alike, are expected to adhere to a high level of conduct.
Profane or abusive language, or disorderly conduct will not be tolerated.
Additionally, all players and spectators are expected to abide by the
rules set forth in this Policies and Procedures brochure.
Only clothing and shoes
designed to be worn on a tennis court will be allowed.
Shirts and proper tennis shoes must be worn at all times.
When entering the clubhouse, please take the time to use the shoe
cleaners provided to remove the excess clay on your shoes.
The Tennis Center maintains
a well-stocked, competitively priced pro shop, and makes sure that the
membership has access to a highly qualified and experienced teaching staff.
These items are integral to our operation.
We encourage families to “work with” your own family on the courts,
but “teaching” (in any form or fashion) of non-family members – whether
for pay or not – is not allowed. Solicitation
of business – especially for tennis goods or services already offered at the
Tennis Center – is also forbidden. Compliance
with this policy ultimately helps to maintain lower membership rates.
While we all (almost all)
love animals, please do not bring your pets to the Tennis Center.
Pets are not allowed on the premises.
The Tennis Center has a
license to serve beer and wine. This
license also forbids any alcohol bought off premises being brought on our
premises. Therefore, we cannot
allow any alcohol on the grounds other than that which we sell.
Children under the age of
12 are not to be left unattended on the Tennis Center grounds.
A parent or supervisor need not be present while a child is involved in a
junior development clinic or lesson; but playing tennis while your child is
unattended is not acceptable.
As a member of the
Bluewater Bay Tennis Center, you are also a member of the Tennis Association.
There are no dues or fees involved with this membership.
The Association operates
several social activities each year including the Club Championships.
The Association is always in the need of members to assist as well as
people to input new ideas. To get
involved, check the website to contact a board member and learn more.
